With over 5000 or more heirloom varieties of tomatoes available, it is easy to understand why growing them becomes an obsession. But how do you choose between so many tremendous varieties?

I have been growing heirloom varieties for many years now, so I do have my personal favourites - Aunt Ruby's German Green, for example. I also this year have referred to books by individuals who have devoted a great deal of time in growing and comparing the many varieties. Some varieties I have included are highly recommended by Dr. Carolyn Male, in her book"100 Heirloom Tomatoes for the American Garden", whereas others are highly recommended by Seed Savers Exchange and Seeds of Diversity.

All transplants are grown in 3-4" pots, are grown organically and are fully hardened off and ready to go in your garden when weather permits. My transplants are strong and healthy and with proper care and conditions, should produce a harvest of tasty summer tomatoes...the way tomatoes used to taste. Now, what to choose?
